I’m into food. Anyone that knows me personally knows how much I love cooking, eating, talking about food, taking pictures of food…you get the gist.
My favourite room is of course, the kitchen. So I’ve put together a short, easy, and quick read on the best kitchen essentials for 2025.
These are kitchen tools I actually use, they are items worth buying however, one of the list is just a snack.
1. OXO Good Grips Y Peeler, the must-have, the MVP.
We all love genuinely useful kitchen gadgets and this is one of those.
But beware: this peeler is sharp so watch those fingers!
I use when making salads, peeling potatos, and even peeling cheese if I’m feeling particularly festive. It’s so easy to hold and when I looked it up to find the link, I read that little extra bit on the side is a “built-in potato eyer”, so I’ll definitely be taking that for a spin at some point.
When I’ve roped friends into helping with peeling while I do other jobs, they have also been impressed. It’s a kitchen thing that truly makes life easier!

2. Maldon Ceramic Salt Pig, the beautiful countertop kitchen essential.
This isn’t the first salt pig I’ve owned and it certainly won’t be the last. What transpired was that, being fairly brand loyal to Maldon Salt, I purchased one as a Christmas present, and soon after, had to buy it for myself.
If you’re a Maldon Salt fan, it’s one of those small kitchen must-haves that you can have next to the hob for easy access.

3. Ninja Dual Zone Air Fryer, the kitchen item I actually use at least every other day.
When thinking about kitchen things that make life easier, the trusty air fryer has to get a mention.
My friend recommended a Dual Ninja (two drawers, one for chips, one for sausages) and they had already done a lot of research, and I haven’t been disappointed. Mine isn’t this exact colour, I got a black one.

4. Smiths Pub Card Scampi Fries, the snack you (probably) can’t live without.
If you want to pretend you’re in a pub or need a quick snack, why not have this 24-pack pub card hanging up inside one of your cupboards? Enough said.

5. Pots and Pans Protectors, my favourite underrated kitchen tool.
I’m protective over my pots and pans and I want them to last a long time. My cupboard space is also very limited, which means I have many stacked on top of each other.
You can place these felt pads (12 in a set) between your cookware, or your previous bowls, and pans and it will help protect them from any scratches.

I hope my list of practical kitchen buys helps someone out there. That’s my first post done and dusted. They can only get better right…
